It has a robust, full bodied flavor with grassy/ woody mid-tones and a slightly peppery finish that does not linger.

Normally, Picual olive oils tend to be very pungent and a bit overwhelming. Picual olive trees produce a lovely, full bodied flavor with a clean crisp peppery finish.

Picual is the staple extra virgin olive oil of Andalusia, not to mention the most widely grown olive variety in Spain. It is not hard to find a good Picual that makes you say "wow!"  It is the staple of the Andalucian kitchen and a favorite for finishing fish and gazpacho!

Aguibal Picual is perfect on any fish, manchego cheese or simply as a dipping oil with bread. Art Smith, Oprah's Chef, enjoys the Aguibal Picual in salads.

The fruit of a Picual olive tree. This olive is mostly used for making olive oil, the oil is said to have a very strong flavor, preferred in the Middle East. The olives (drupes for Olive people) are picked black and furnish an oil that is considered to be of very good quality in Spain.
Lay trees over, hit the outside of the container to loosen the soil inside the container. Then slide the tree out of the container. Comb through the soil of the root ball with your fingers. This will help the olive tree properly root into the ground. These Picual olive trees were ground in redwood mulch and lava rock, so we had to take a lot of this heavy soil mix out to make the shipping less costly.
A multi trunk planting of Picual olive trees in a 25 gallon container. rustic cultivar that adapts to diverse environmental conditions. Picual reacts well to regenerative pruning because of its capacity to sprout new growth. Our customer wanted 3 to 4 trees per container for their appearance on the morning show.

Picual olive trees are vigorous plants with an expansive crown. We used 4 trees to give a real good full appearance. This variety has an open shape and branches in a square rectangular pattern. The small branches have leaves at close spacing that are elliptical-lanceolate in shape and of a brilliant green color.
