Growquest Payment Procedures and Policy
We prefer to process payments through Paypal. You can visit their site at www.paypal.com Their extremely secure means of providing paymentsfor transactions means each of our concerns are best served. The reason that we only accept direct payment from Pay Pal and American Express have policies that they protect both buyer and seller. Sometimes it is our fault, sometimes the customer is just trying to game the system. When making a payment through us using Paypal, send the amount on your Quick Books invoice and use your invoice number. In the past; we did exactly what we said we would do, charge your credit card for the cost of packing and shipping your order. A few people would start screaming and yelling about this and that and demand refunds. This is why we have a double step process here. I have heard, "well I shop other internet sites and they can tell me exactly how much it will cost. They are either shipping quite small plants or charging way too much. We look at each plant order and see if there is a way we can do it for less. This is reflected in lower prices, particularly if are getting a lot of plants. In doubt? Then give us the order you want, and let us give a quote for it, and then shop that quote to other sites, make sure they selling and shipping the same plants. Personal and company checks, bill pay, money orders, corporate and municipal purchase orders are just fine. If you are mailing a check then email your name and the check number, NOT THE ACCOUNT number, just the next check in the book We let you enter your credit card information into our secure server as a means of starting the transaction, you can select purchase order and type "Othello" into the purchase order number field. Visa, Master Card and Discover information is not used by us for any payment process. The reason that we only accept direct payment from American Express has policies that protect both buyer and seller. Sometimes it is our fault, sometimes the customer is just trying to game the system. Ladybugs, predator snails and praying mantis are usually sent with a note for you to mail payment when you get the order. Orders with Next Day shipping charges, may require prepayment with American Express or Pay Pal. The primary cost in shipping ladybugs and other beneficial insects is the shipping expense. Instead of raising prices to cover increased shipping costs we find it more effective to send the Ladybugs and other beneficial insects with a note to send us a check back after you get your order. Bare Root Roses - we ship most of these from late October through March with a note to send back payment. Before and after that you may be required to make pre payment through check, Paypal or Amex. If you love the roses you will send back the money, if you do not, send back the plants. Chris Potted Plants, we ship a lot of large plants, some are very large. Most are far larger than any other internet site would usually ship out on a daily basis. There are sometimes damaged shipments. Now people who read their terms of purchase will know that they have agreed to get a reshipment, not refund. In the past when there was problem with Visa, Master Card and Discover customers some would demand a refund from their card provider. This is very costly to any business when customers do this. When possible we will knock of some of extra soil from potted roses and ship several in a box. We also pack and ship them in their pots, one per box. For this reason we do not accept those cards directly anymore. Those card holders, once they approve of their invoice may pay at www.paypal.com, with a check or over the phone with an American Express card. Shipping charges? If you want a mature plant and not a little sapling or tiny start then be prepared for the cost of shipping. The cost of what we can be quite high. If we are not doing a detailed job of preparation and packing a 60" rose tree or fruit tree can cost $60.00 to $90.00 to ship. If we do our job well we can keep it between $35.00 and $45.00. We ship a lot of #5, #7 and #15 fruit and shade trees. These packages start at about 18 pounds and require a lot of materials and labor to get that plant to you. There are a few people who e-mail screaming "how dare I charge those @##!O_$# and #$@!+@! obscene prices for the cost of packing and shipping. So my offer is simple; Do it yourself! Go to your nursery and get a #5 plant about 42" to 48" tall. Then get yourself a couple of 12 x 12 x 48 inch boxes, figure out a way to secure that plant, because during the shipping process it will be upside down and lay sideways and any number other possible combination of positions. Then take that package to Fed Ex store, we get a discount on ground so subtract about 10% from your bill, and ask them how much they will charge you to ship that plant to me. If you can get all of that done then you are ready to make your "fortune" shipping plants, and I may send you your order at no charge, pay your experiment expenses, when you get your shipping costs lower then mine and get that plant here. Now understand if it gets there in poor condition you will have more than likely replace it. Maybe the prime season on that plant supply is past and now you will order in or wait for more to grow out. Then if it does arrive in poor shape, be prepared to listen to some people to want a refund in full, so you are out the expense of the plant, packing and shipping and now the refund. This why we charge what we charge, and on any given day of the week we do it better than nearly anybody who could try it on a daily basis. All plant orders are subject to home improvement lien laws in your State, in the event of a bounced check, disputed charge for products that have arrived to the property. All California orders are subject to this in the event of payment problems when the material arrive at the job site. - Please note it is the buyers responsibility to have the proper equipment to off load material at the job site, in the event of lack of proper equipment we will rent it and bill it to you and lien the job until it is paid for in full plus standby time. |
