Aphid Bio Controls

Ladybugs

Green Lacewing - The Aphid Destroyer, beat the heat

Aphids on Rose bud. The white bodies are not Whitefly pests but Aphids that have been eaten by Ladybugs and Lacewing

Aphid control is easily done using one or more of our general predators. During cool to warm periods in your growing season Ladybugs are best used. Ladybugs or more properly Ladybeetles feed on a wide variety of pests. We have two primary types of Ladybeetles, H. convergens or the common Ladybeetle and the 12 Spotted Ladybeetle. Aphids and other similar plants occurring during warm to hot weather gardening conditions are best controlled with Green lacewing or the Aphid destroyer.

H. convergens or " Ladybugs" are sold in units from 1,000 perfect for most medium to large gardens and landscapes to 1 gallon bags, ideal for farm crop production. While they will fly away at some point depending on current climate conditions and the process you take to release them, that is their function. When properly released into your garden and landscape Ladybugs will feed on Aphids, Mealybugs, Scales, Spider mites, Thrip, Whitefly and some other types of pests, then mate. The females will lay eggs on the leaves of the plants, which will hatch into baby ladybug larva. The larva feed for 3 weeks before changing into the brick red beetle we are so familiar with. more information

12 Spotted Ladybugs are great because they come as baby larva so they can't fly away. 12 Spotted feed very well on Aphids and other pests but have developed a very good reputation as predators of Corn Earworm & Spider mites. more information   AVAILABILITY IS SOMETIMES LIMITED
